Install the PointMaxxer extension

The Chrome Web Store listing is still in review. Until it is approved you can add the extension yourself in about a minute. It is the same extension that is going into the store.

Works in these desktop browsers

Download the extension (zip)

  1. Unzip the downloadRight-click the zip and choose Extract all (Windows) or double-click it (Mac). Put the folder somewhere permanent, like Documents. Chrome reads it from there every time it starts, so do not delete it.
  2. Open the extensions pageType the address from your browser’s tile above into the address bar, for example chrome://extensions.
  3. Turn on Developer modeThe switch is at the top right of that page.
  4. Click Load unpackedChoose the folder you unzipped, the one that contains a file named manifest.json.
  5. Pin itClick the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar, then the pin next to PointMaxxer. Open it, add your cards, and you are set.

Good to know

Updates are manual. This copy does not update itself. When we publish a new version, download it again and replace the folder, then press the refresh icon on its card in the extensions page. Once the Web Store listing is live, install from there and updates happen on their own.

A notice on startup. Chrome may show "Disable developer mode extensions" when it opens. That is Chrome's standard message for any extension added this way. Choose Cancel (or the X) to keep it.

Not supported yet: Firefox and Safari, and phones and tablets, because browsers there handle extensions differently. The web app covers them.

Prefer not to install anything? The web app does the same ranking on any phone or computer, with no setup.
